The L298N is a H-bridge motor driver IC that can be used to drive DC motors and stepper motors. It can control both the speed and direction of the motors. The L298N can operate with a voltage range of 5V to 46V and can deliver a continuous output current of up to 4A per channel. The IC has a total of four channels, two for each of the two motors that it can drive. It has a total of 15 pins, including input and output pins for each of the four channels and various control and power pins. The L298N can be used with microcontrollers or other control systems to drive motors in a variety of applications.

 

The L298N IC is the perfect motor driver (H-Bridge) IC for most all projects. It can handle high voltage and high current but care needs to be taken to not overheat the IC during long operations. Usually the IC would have a heatsink attached (such as the L298N Modules available at Leobot Electronics). 

The L298N can be used to drive both DC motors and Servo Motors.
