#12657: XH-M229 ATX Transfer Power Supply Breakout Board

R113.40

The XH-M229 ATX Transfer Board is a convenient breakout board that allows you to repurpose an ATX computer power supply into a versatile bench tool to power your electronic projects. This board routes various ATX output voltages (specifically -12V, 3.3V, 5V, and 12V) to screw terminals, with each voltage rail protected by a 5 amp fuse. The provided voltages are sufficient for many common electronics applications, and the -12V output is particularly useful for op-amps and audio projects.

Key features of the XH-M229 ATX Transfer Board:

  • Output Voltages: The board provides -12V, 3.3V, 5V, and 12V outputs, each capable of delivering up to 5 amps of current.

  • 5 Amp Fuses: Each power rail is equipped with a 5 amp fuse, providing protection against overcurrent and short circuits.

  • Power Enabled Indicator: The board includes an indicator LED to show when the power supply is enabled and operational.

  • On-Off Switch and Control Circuit: The board features an on-off switch and control circuit, allowing you to shut down the entire power supply easily.

  • Size: The board has a compact size, measuring approximately 48mm x 128mm x 30mm.

Compatibility: The XH-M229 board is compatible with ATX power supplies (and partially with BTX type) having a 24-pin connector.

Note: Some ATX power supplies may require a minimum load on the 5V rail to start up properly. In most cases, modern ATX supplies do not require a significant load, but it's recommended to include a 5W around 10-ohm load to ensure proper startup. Unnecessary loads can waste electricity and generate unnecessary heat.

With the XH-M229 ATX Transfer Board, you can easily create your own bench power supply, making efficient use of an existing ATX power supply to meet the power needs of your electronics projects.
